Welcome to my website!

I’m Buffy Silverman, author of nonfiction books and poetry for young readers. Much of my writing is inspired by my fascination with nature. When I was a kid, I collected bugs and climbed trees. I’m no longer much of a tree climber, but I still spend time outdoors every day, usually accompanied by my dog and camera. Taking photographs encourages me to slow down and watch closely. I’m lucky to live near a woods and lake, where there’s always something new to discover. But no matter where you live, you can observe nature right outside your door.

Enjoy your stay, and come back soon. I’ll let you know what’s hot off the press.
